‘Break Away’ follows on from The Native’s impressive previous single, ‘Chasing Highs’. This folk-tinged track is driven by melody and lead vocalist Charlie Noordewier’s exceptional voice. Bright guitars and warm piano provide the perfect backdrop for his musings on the impact of Brexit on the future of young people: “We didn’t really have the chance to speak up for how our future will pan out. Especially as a young band, times are very uncertain with how touring and shows will go ahead after Brexit and if we’ll even be able to afford to make it out of the UK once the pandemic is over”.
